The aim for my advert is to raise awareness about the fact that using too much energy can cause electrical equipments turning off automatically.
Additionally, my main aim for the advert is to make teenagers aware that using too much energy will lead to energy shortage or we will be running out of energy supply. This will mean that the future generation would have to pay for the downrights which may be caused by us.
For example, in the past few years across Britain, cities were plunged into darkness. In London, the Underground grinded to a halt, leaving panicked commuters stranded in oppressively hot carriages. In office blocks, lifts stopped operating and the air-conditioning has shut down.
The real life example above links to my advert conveying the message that, nowadays, anything we use operates through electricity. Any minute it can shut down and we'll be left without our necessary equipments. Therefore, if there wasn't any electricity there would be no energy and people wouldn't be able to carry on properly with their daily living such as using the laptop to do their homework, research things, watch TV or having the lights on to see things properly.
What is my final idea?
For my final idea I have chosen to be idea 2 because that idea had mainly been chosen by my audience and it had more strength which made it easier for me to develop my idea more through the filming, planning and the production of the moving picture. However, I did make several changes to the idea to suit the brief and make it appealing to my target audience. Idea one didn’t convey the right message and the purpose of it was unclear to my target audience.
Why have you decided to choose this idea?
I’ve chosen this idea, mainly, because of audience feedback. See blogger unit 3 for more info. On their quotations of descriptions made by Wordle.
What advertising strategies will you use?
For this idea I’m mainly going to use humour as it was the highest percentage respond chosen by my target audience in my quantitative data questionnaire.
How does my advert appeal to my target audience?
I’ve considered my target audience preference in my advert (e.g. they choose humour and I’ll produce something humorous), I’ve used the correct age similar to my target audience which is 15-19 year olds, conventional props such as a TV, laptop, bedroom, a domestic setting, location is in an ordinary location where people from different classes life together. At last, I’ve also used TV programmes such as ’Starz which my target audience can relate to.
What are my areas for development or improvements that need to be made?
I have to mention that this information is from my audience feedback as I've summerized issues and they gave me their own opinions, ideas and thought of what they prefer to develop my ideas further and produce a good moving image product as I've been commissioned by makeachange.me.uk.
- Firstly, they’ve asked me to clarify and develop my ideas precisely and effectively. (E.g. I required more visual imagery and information about my ideas which I did on my PowerPoint presentation)
- I had to choose more relevant locations, upload interviewing videos and its results.
- Link my ideas to my brief and make it appealing to my target audience. For example, I must consider how my advert will substitute teenage lifestyles?
- My idea should be more understandable and considering every steps I need to consider.
- And, I have to do more target audience research to help me with my ideas.
- Finally, I have to have clear and descriptive ideas telling the examiner exactly what I am doing?
